Roz started with a dream in her heart. She previously worked at top corporations as a software engineer, survived many layoffs, accumulated lots of stock from the corporation, didn’t necessarily have the financial education to handle it but she discovered that she had the gift of communication through her church.
She started developing her true purpose and mission through her church. She served at the church voluntarily and used her gifts. She then took everything she had learned and started her own business.
Have you ever wondered about how to approach the media to talk about your event, start-up or that wonderful thing you just launched? There are ways to be intentional with your approach to the show producers and why they should even listen to you.
How do you approach the media?
Know your mission. Be very clear about what you have been called to do. That is, “I know that this is what I was born to do.”
When you approach the media, they are looking for crystal clear clarity because that is the way the media is done. It is done in a segmented fashion. What am I called to do? Who am I called to serve? Who do I offer my value to?
Know your message. To attract the media, have the right message at the right time. – Roz Gee

Go to the media with the mentality of “how can I serve you? How can I collaborate you?” Generate a press release. It is very cost effective and goes through a national wire. Reach out to the media directly but remember to come from a place of service. Start putting your videos out.
